I was inspired to paint Chichester Cathedral on a sunny day, I took some photographs to work from. I particularly wanted to capture the light on the building. Chichester Cathedral has architecture in both the Norman and Gothic styles. It is the only Medieval English Cathedral which is visible from the sea and is a landmark for sailors.
